PLASTIC in our OCEAN

There is a pile of plastic twice the size of Texas (or four times the size of the U.K.) floating in the ocean off of the California coast. Over 90% of all ocean birds have plastic in their systems. Many die from the amount of plastic ingested. At least 8 million tons of plastic enter the ocean every year. Plastic never goes away; it just becomes a smaller and more dangerous form of plastic called "microplastic". Plastic bags, which closely resemble jellyfish-the diet of a sea turtle, are used for mere minutes before dumped into the ocean. The statistics and facts go on and on but they don't have to.
